AFCD ACCREDITED FARM
The Accredited Farm Scheme has been carried out by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Vegetable Marketing Organization since 1994. Participation in the scheme is entirely voluntary. The scheme aims at promoting the adoption of good cultivation techniques and encouraging proper use of pesticides. Those accredited farms should allow regular inspections by AFCD to ensure all products are safe for consumption.
We are the first and currently the only one AFCD Accredited Farm who engaging in hydroponics plantation. We strictly follow the guidelines in the Accredited Farmer's Handbook and actively cooperate with AFCD during regular inspections. The AFCD visited our farms on 20 February, 2014. Samples of vegetables and irrigation water are taken for analysis of pesticide/heavy metal residues. The results showed that the heavy metals of all the samples complied with the AFCD’s specifications.
